Fantastic to visit Home Start

28 September 2019

28 September 2019: It is an honour to be a patron of Home Start and it was so great yesterday to attend their Annual General Meeting. There were wise words from the Mayor of Guildford too. He reminded us all that despite everything going on in Westminster, wonderful volunteers throw their effort into giving communities much of their time across Guildford and Cranleigh. My grateful thanks again to everyone for…

Celebrating wonderful apprentices!

27 September 2019

27 September 2019: It was such an honour and a pleasure today to be asked to present at the Graduation ceremony for apprentices at Guildford Cathedral.  Such a wonderful afternoon of celebration and so much hard to work put in by everyone! It also great to have a catch up with the fabulous team at Introva and to chat about the apprentices the employ. I cannot thank everyone enough for…

We must watch our behaviour.

26 September 2019

26 September 2019 Yesterday’s actions in the House were completely unacceptable. 25 September 2019: As an avid reader, it is wonderful to hear that Book Trust will reach over 700,000 reception-age children this month.  They will reach out with books and activities to share and enjoy at home – keep up the good work and thanks for letting me be involved!

20 September 2019

20 September 2019: My grateful thanks to all the residents who attended the Cranleigh Flood Forum today and to Surrey County Council, Waverley Borough Council, the Environment Agency, Thames Water and Cranleigh Parish Council too! It just goes to show, normal life does continue away from Westminster!

Joining the Guildford Climate Strikers!

Photo credit: Mandy Millyard. 20 September 2019: It was inspiring to join so many young people and see so many familiar faces at the climate strike in Guildford today.  Young people around the world are doing a fantastic job at raising awareness of the changes we must all make and it was great to be a part of it today.

A visit to Christopher’s

15 September 2019

9 September 2019: It was good to visit Christopher’s today – Shooting Star Children’s Hospices provide care, support and improve the lives of young people and their families in the most difficult of circumstances. Thank you for all you do for families in Guildford and elsewhere!
