The NSPCC's #CloseTheLoophole campaign did a great job in January highlighting the gap in the law that legally allowed people in some positions of power – for example sports coaches or youth group leaders – to get away with grooming 16 & 17 year olds.
This is unacceptable. Although I look forward to the Government’s review of this law, I share the frustration that it has taken so long, and you can find my question to the Minister here:

I was grateful to have the time to also pay tribute to the wonderful Rape and Sexual Abuse Support Centre (RASASC) in Guildford. I am a Patron of this charity and it does some fantastic work in supporting victims, often whose abuse happened years ago but they were too afraid to come forward.
